More of your tributes to the Queen Mother
Buckingham Palace has announced the death of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.Disclaimer: The BBC will put up as many of your comments as possible but we cannot guarantee that all e-mails will be published. The BBC reserves the right to edit comments that are published.
She lived longer than any other King or Queen in British history.
Yet her reign as Consort was comparatively short.
She was one of the architects of the modern House of Windsor, yet she was born a commoner.
Her birth came at the very beginning of the 20th century, but each generation will have its own memories of her.
Send us your Queen Mother tributes.
A symbol of dignity and kindness who will be missed by everyone. My heart goes out to the Queen, who will feel the loss most of all.
What a brave soul.
I hereby wish to give my sincere condolences to the country that just lost one of its most popular people.
Siento mucho la muerte de la reina madre.
Es una gran predida para inglaterra.
Mis mas sinceros sentimientos para el pueblo ingles.
I feel great sadness at the Death of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. I have always felt her to be a very stabilising influence to her own family and to the nation. My condolences go to the Royal Family at their sad loss.
I will never forget her smiling face during the aftermath of the 'blitz'. Sadly missed and deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and family.
Her country will never forget her and always be proud of her. She will be very much missed by everyone.
I am not one that really goes in much for royalty, but her grace, charm, and sense of humour will be missed. If more prominent people could express those traits, the world would be a better place.
I send my deepest sympathy to all the Royal Family at this sad time. A mother can never be replaced. I will miss all that she stood for.
I was deeply saddened upon hearing of the passing of the Queen Mother. My thoughts are with the Royal Family right now.
I was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of the British Queen Mother.
I never really followed the Royals, but the Queen Mother always seemed so sweet and brave. She always had a lovely smile on her face. It's sad when anyone dies, she was Somebody's Mum after all, and it mattered to them.
Although we all knew that The Queen Mother was frail her passing still comes as a shock. It is so sad that she had to bury her daughter. I am glad she went gently into that good night but am so upset.
She was a real woman, who treated people as real people. I am sad she has gone. My prayers will be with her during this Easter Season. God rest her soul. A great loss to us all.
I send my prayers for her soul and my sympathy to the Royal family and the people of UK.
You will always be remembered and respected. It's a great loss to the world.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of such an indomitable, compassionate woman. I give my consolation to the royal family and the UK at the passing of the Queen Mum, who truly symbolized what it was to be royal. May her eternal rest be peaceful.
Angélique Middendorp, Netherlands
The world has lost a great and gracious lady. The prayers of my family go out to the Royal Family in this sad time, but be assured that this remarkable Lady shall remain in all our hearts for a very long time.
Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother was the great matriarch of the Commonwealth. Our favourite grandmother, and indeed great-grandmother, she epitomised all that was truly noble in the human spirit. Those of us in Canada recall fondly the visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939. The following decades would see Her Majesty return time and time again. I know I speak for millions of Canadians when I offer HM The Queen and all members of our Royal Family heartfelt condolences at this sad time.
I´m 77 and followed all I could from BBC through the years and I admired her very much.
We will all miss her lovely face.

The day I have always dreaded has arrived we have lost our Royal Mum. She was a wonderful lady who clearly loved her family and her country and the general public. I am going to miss her dearly. God Bless you, your Majesty.
I have just heard the sad news about the Queen Mother's death. What a wonderful lady she was. I had the great privilege of meeting her when I was just a child and took her flowers on her birthday. She was such a gentle, caring person who will be sadly missed. God bless her xxx
She was a lovely person and will be greatly missed may she never be forgotten.
I stood in the Mall on her 100th birthday celebration and was truly spellbound by her. She had touched and captivated so many generations across many continents. She will be truly missed.
She set the tone for how the monarchy ought to conduct itself and has exerted a positive influence over both the younger royals, and the general public.
She was supposed to live forever! I am very saddened by your Queen Mother's passing. The world came to see her as their Grandmother, too. You all have our deepest condolences; we will miss her very much.
The Queen Mother was not only the Queen Mother of Great Britain, she was the Queen Mother of the world, whom we all loved and admired. She will always be amongst us in our minds and our hearts.
She was a great lady and will be sadly missed.
My heart goes out to the Royal Family & the people of England who have indeed lost a national treasure. She has always been my favourite member of the Royal Family. A brave, sweet, noble, and kind lady she will be sadly missed by all.
Reading the stories of her during World War II and her defiance and decision to stay in Britain made her one of the greatest women of the twentieth century.
The Queen Mother was an inspiration to the country. Both young and old respected her and she'll be greatly missed by the whole country. My thoughts are with the Royal Family especially The Queen and Charles, who was her favourite grandson.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of the Queen Mother; she was an inspiring and gentle example of all that is good about a life lived in the service of one's country. I offer my sympathies to the Royal Family at what is undoubtedly a painful time.
What a wonderful legacy the Queen Mother will leave, from being thrust into the full glare of the public so unexpectedly, through to the vitriol of the internal strive which has caused so much damage to the Royal Family, the Queen Mother has shown her courage, total dedication & love of her country as being more important then herself. I would suggest that the Queen Mother is the last real patriot and one that will be sorely missed.
What can one say? She is going to be greatly missed. She was an institution in her own right, everybody knew the Queen Mum and everybody loved her. My thoughts are with the Queen at this moment, how very sad for her to lose her sister and then her mother in such a short space of time - particularly during this amazing golden jubilee year

As an American who spent time studying in London a few years ago, I became enamoured with the Queen Mother. As a student of European history, I found her actions during the blitz to be remarkable. She will always be my favourite royal. What a life she lived!
I was shocked to hear about the strongest part of the monarchy passing away. It deeply saddened me. I am only 15 but I have a great interest in the monarchy and she will be deeply missed by me and my family. Our Prayers are with her and the royal family.

As an ex-pat I always cherished her as a much-loved link with my heritage. Deepest sympathy to H.M. Elizabeth and all her family. Let's not mourn too much, rather, celebrate a life well lived by a person of great stature who somehow had the common touch for such a long time.
Your Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is with deep regret that I have heard the news of the passing of your mother, our Queen Mother. I too lost my mum three weeks ago, she was ninety. I understand how you feel. Nothing can replace your mother. May they rest in peace. God bless you.

My deepest sympathy to the Royal Family and the UK.
A heart of gold. A smile that no one will forget. An inspiration who will live on in our memories forever. May the Royal Family be granted peace and love at this time.
It was tremendously sad to hear of the death of the Queen Mother. She was the epitome of royalty, and her passing marks the end of a very distinguished era in the British monarchy. She will be missed very much, and she will never be forgotten. All of our thoughts are of course with the Queen, who has lost both her sister and her mother in this, her Jubilee year.
The Queen Mother was a joy and inspiration to us all, a contemporary personality even at 101 and a symbol of stability. May her memory be eternal!
I am only nine years old but I have strong feelings for the royal family. I hope she rests in peace
My family and I are very saddened at this most tragic of losses. We will always remember this incredible woman with great affection, and wish her family strength in this saddest of times. From one of "Her boys".
I'm devastated. She was the most noble of the royal family, and with her passes one of the most popular members of her line. My heartfelt sorrow and best wishes go to Her Majesty, the Queen and her family.

It is a measure of the love the Queen Mum had for her people that she would make the time, despite her ill health, to greet her many fans outside Clarence House on her 101st birthday. She was an extraordinary woman. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all those who loved her.
Rest in Peace, Queen Mother. You will be sorely missed by the thousands who loved you dearly. The Royal Family have lost a shining jewel from their crown just as heaven have gained one.
I will always remember the Queen Mother as a very strong woman through the best of times and the worst. Our thoughts go out to the Royal Family.

She was the heart of England and it is very sad that she is gone. Losing someone close and dear is always so hard. I would like to hug and comfort everyone who is sad because this sad happening. Peace for her soul.
We have lost not only a well-loved national figure, but also an historic one - the last major public figure from the long struggle to free Europe from fascism and make it safe for democracy. Yes, she had a life of great privilege, but she understood completely where her duties to the nation lay, and that is why she will always be remembered with such affection.
Today, a great lady has passed away. England has lost a great and respected woman.
All will remember her fondly.
My sincere condolences to the Royal Family, she was a grand lady and will be missed by all.
The Queen Mother was always cheerful and shared her life with her family as well as the public. I am sure there will be a huge crowd at her funeral.
My prayers are with her family in this time of sorrow.
This is indeed very sad news. The Queen Mother was a great lady and part of the British institution. This will undoubtedly dampen the enthusiasm of Queen Elizabeth II in her Jubilee year. For the Queen to lose both her cherished mother and her sister in the space of just a couple of months is a great sadness. RIP Queen Mother, your loss will be our sadness. Thank you though for so many treasured memories.
A lady with a Heart of Gold, who will be sorely missed. RIP Elizabeth
Deanna LeCoyte, England

A bit of history has departed in spirit but not in our thoughts. She will be missed.
I heard the news while watching the news here in Hamburg. Whether you are a fan or critic of the Royal Family, the passing of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother is simply the end of an era. In a lifetime spanning over one hundred years, she was a link between three centuries spanning some of the most momentous events of recent history.
My thoughts, as I'm sure are everybody elses, are with the Royal Family right now. It is hard to lose a loved one at the best of times but to do so in the full glare of the public spotlight can only be so much harder.
I just prey, unlike with Diana, that they get the time they need to grieve. After all it may be a member of our royal family who has died but to them it is a much loved family member who for all of them has always been there
I was deeply saddened upon hearing of the passing of the Queen Mother. My prayers will be with her during this Easter Season
