Members of the Royal Family have said their final farewells to Princess Margaret at her funeral.
Princess Margaret died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday at the age of 71.
The Queen Mother attended her daughter's funeral, despite concerns over the 101-year-old's health.

My condolences to the family of Princess Margaret especially to Queen Mother for her incomparable love for her daughter and despite her condition being 101 years old, also to Queen Elizabeth II and to her children. She had love, beauty, passion and integrity. She was only human and subject to imperfection. She was the representation of being bold and audacious. May she rest in peace and thank you for sharing your life with us.
I am very sad at the passing of Princess Margaret, my heart goes out to Queen Elizabeth who lost her sister and the Queen Mother who lost her daughter I have always been very fond of the Royal Family. Princess Margaret will be sadly missed.
Please convey deepest sympathy to Her Majesty The Queen, and to all the family on the death of H.R.H. Princess Margaret. Australians everywhere love and admire our Royal Family. To a beautiful Princess: Ave atque Vale.
Victoria Mary Bahri, Antigua
Princess Margaret, may she rest in peace finally away from the prying eyes of the world.
Her Royal Highness was a charming and a dearly loved figure during her previous visits to Hong Kong and Canada, both of which I am a citizen and Her Majesty's loyal subject. We will remember her proactive role in charities in Hong Kong by our hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital in Kowloon.
My deepest sympathy to her children, the Queen Mother, the Queen and Prince Charles on the loss of such a talented and intelligent 'free spirit'. I only ever saw her once, here in South Africa in 1947, when as a 6 year old recently arrived immigrant I proudly stood with my classmates, lining the road to watch 'MY' Royal Family including the two beautiful Princesses drive past. That memory stays with me still!
Princess Margaret influenced my life. When I was a young girl, in the 1950's, I remember her as very beautiful and glamorous. But most of all, I will remember her putting duty above all else. My deepest sympathy to her children, the Queen Mother and Her Majesty the Queen.
Sue Cowie, Hong Kong
My deepest sympathy
and condolences to the Royal Family. The Queen's mother showed a remarkable
courage and resilience in true British manner.
Condolences to her family and children for their loss. The beauty of her spirit was not dimmed by personal sacrifice, time or loss. I wish eternal peace for her and comfort for those she has left behind.
My deepest sympathy and condolence to the families of Princess Margaret. Your loss is the world's loss. Remembered in thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Princess.
Bridget Hanna, USA
Princess Margaret was a beautiful woman. My condolences to the Royal Family. I remember when she married Lord Snowdon, what a day that was. I kept the commemorative book for many years, until I moved to the States in l977. May you now find peace and love in your new home in the sky, Princess Margaret.
I will always remember HRH Princess Margaret as an elegant lady who tried to enjoy life to the fullest. I pray that she rest in peace.
How hard it must be for the Queen Mother to lose a daughter. My deepest sympathy to her and the Royal Family.
Gill Osmond, Canada
Forever young in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace now, Princess Margaret.
My deepest sympathy to the Royal Family and to England.
To HRH Princess Margaret: Thank you for your 71 years here. Your presence on this earth was appreciated.
My husband and I would like to express to the royal family our deepest condolence at the passing of HRH The Princess Margaret. We are Jamaicans and really feel a certain affinity to the royal family. May her soul rest in peace.
Princess Margaret was artistic and sensitive, yet responsible and royal. My deepest condolences to her sister and mother.
A star has gone to see and touch the face of God. Give comfort to those she leaves behind. She was a lovely lady.
Margaret is a good example of royal equanimity that many people have come to expect. May she rest in peace.
Princess Margaret - She was a Royal who understood what her duty was to be a member of the Royal family. She made the very tough decision all those years ago to give up on her chance of happiness to be a member of the Royal family. Her life may of been completely different had she went with her heart instead of her head! May she rest in may forever more. My thoughts and prayers are for her children, David and Sarah, grandchildren, her mother and sister. It will be a sad and great loss to all who loved her but they should remember that she will be watching over them in everything that they do. God bless.
Princess Margaret Rose was the same age as I. As was one of my sisters with the Queen. Our family have always been very fond of the Royal Family. I recently lost all of my sisters. So I feel sympathy for the Queen's loss of her only beloved sister.
Helen Cowie, England
Princess Margaret was responsible for closing the gap between the common people and Royalty. She was a real person who acted out her beliefs. What more could you ask for.
I continue to be saddened by death of Princess Margaret and have kept her sister, mother and especially her children who have lost their beloved mother in my prayers.
Thanks Ma'am. I have been thinking about you and your family throughout the week. Your life has been very important to many of us, performing the position of patron for many wonderful organisations including the Guides. You were one of us in many ways showing that you are just as human as us with the difficulties in life that most of us experience.
Michael Anderson, Switzerland
I was saddened at the news of Princess Margaret's death. When I was a little girl, my mother took me to London to see her on her wedding day. The policemen let all the little children through to the front and we had a super view of all the royal carriages. Princess Margaret looked really lovely. Afterwards we went to the Abbey to see her bouquet, which had been laid on the altar steps. It was very exciting for a little girl!
My thoughts are with the Queen Mother today.
My deepest feelings and my condolences to the Royal Family and the British Nation on the loss of the late Princess Margaret. May she rest in peace.
A lively princess who lived life to the fullest. A pace setter and a loving mother. May she rest peacefully in the bosom of our Lord.
As a contemporary in England during our youth, Princess Margaret was a role model for me. Her signature elegant cigarette holder was something I copied in an attempt to be sophisticated but I did not become addicted, thankfully. I admired HRH throughout her turbulent life and hope she has now found peace and the love for which she searched.
Deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and all of the Royal family.
Prayers for the Royal Family at the time of their grief. May they find peace and solace at the this sad time and may God give them strength
When I heard of the death of Princess Margaret, I felt sadness. May I extend my sympathy to the whole Royal Family and especially to the Queen Mother and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I have spent many lovely summers in the UK and feel very close to the British. May God bless the Royal Family and receive Princess Margaret into paradise.
A wonderful example of a modern royal. My sympathies to The Queen and to the Queen Mother. May God bless you and strengthen you at this time. God Save the Queen.
How very sad that in this, the year of the Queen's Golden Jubilee, that she should lose her sister, ironically, within the same week, albeit 50 years after losing her father. Our deepest sympathies go out to the Royal Family, who must be grieving deeply over the loss of this most vivacious and beautiful human being. Margaret's spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her and those who admired her from afar.
My sincere condolences to the Royal British family.
I am 77 years old and have followed the two sisters all of my life and the survivors continue to be in my prayers.
Thelma Langejans, Canada
We tend to think of the Royal Family as very different. But at this moment they are mourning profoundly just as you or I would and my heart aches for all the Windsors, particularly Her Majesty, The Queen Mother. May God give them solace.
I feel sorry for the Queen's loss of her lovely sister. I last saw Princess Margaret in Hamilton, Canada in 1988 and I was very fond of her. I think she tried to balance her own life with her royal duties and like all of us, sometimes things in life don't work out and others are perfectly wonderful. May she rest in peace. I hope the Queen isn't too lonely without her.
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Royal Family at this time of great sorrow.
I never really knew the life and times of Princess Margaret but hearing Prince Charles talk about his Aunt she was obviously a special lady. She will be remembered in my prayers.
John Frencham, UK
Princess Margaret was a true princess and a true Royal who always put her Royal duties before her private live. My condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time.
I was so sad to here the death of Princess Margaret she had been through a lot. My condolences go out to the Royal family, especially the Queen Mother, to loose such a great daughter who will be sadly missed. Now rest in peace.
Princess Margaret Rose was a delight - I remember so well during WWII as a young child being so impressed with both the princesses and delighting in Princess Margaret's "antics." May she rest in peace and joy along with her dear father.
Born and raised in England, and a confirmed Royalist, I feel a personal loss. Princess Margaret, was not a second Diana, she had a profound sense of duty, and put her country and family before herself. She never let down the side. May she rest in peace, God bless her and the Royal Family
My family and I send our condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time. Our thoughts are with the Queen Mother who must be feeling the loss of her daughter strongly. We pray that God will spread his arms around the Family during this sad loss, and bring some comfort to them all.
Hilda, Halifax, England
A fine, lovely lady of whom her family can be justly proud. I wish I had half her fortitude.
I was upset when I heard the news of HRH Princess Margaret's death. My deepest condolences to the Royal Family in Great Britain
A wonderful woman, she was always ahead of her time. She will be missed.
Austin Amadasun, Nigeria
It's always hard to accept the loss of your nearest and the dearest ones. It's even harder for a mother to accept the loss of her children. Our beloved Queen Mother is no exception. My deepest sympathies go to all the Royals and particularly to the Queen Mother.
To the Royal Family: I was sorry to learn of your loss. Although words are futile to offer you consolation, I want you to know how deep my sympathy is and that I feel your sense of bereavement.
I love her.
The death of a Royal always comes as a shock, particularly for those of us abroad. Obviously our main thoughts are with her family, particularly her beloved Mother and Sister. Princess Margaret will always be associated in our minds with the joyous days of the sixties in London. She was a beacon in the dark days of the fifties, and almost single-handedly embodied the spirit of Britishness thereafter. It is a source of great regret to us that she didn't seem to enjoy the same happiness in her life as she gave to so many others. Rest in Peace, Ma'am. You deserve it.
Richard H, UK
How very sad for the Queen Mother to have to bury one of her children. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. God Bless.
On Jan 8/2002, my mother and brother-in-law- both passed away - May God help you - I understand your pain and little comfort, but I love you - when I go to bed tonight, I will say a prayer for my mother, my brother-in-law- and your lovely sister, Margaret. May they all be at peace
Her Royal Highness was a great Royal who was well known and respected by us in the English-speaking Caribbean. Indeed, it was only on Friday February 8, 2002, the day preceding the death of Her Royal Highness, that students of the Princess Margaret Secondary School here in Barbados held their annual Founders Day Service and Parade as part of the celebrations to mark the school's 47th anniversary. It was Her Royal Highness who consented to give her name to this secondary school and graciously opened it on February 8, 1955. May she rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon her.
The country is greatly saddened by this sad loss in the Queen's Jubilee year. Prince Charles tribute was extremely moving and eloquent. Princess Margaret will be missed. My thoughts are with her family at this very sad time.
I've been following the Royal Family life since I was a child.I admire them because after all they are human beings. Princess Margaret lived and suffered like any common person. Although she was a Princess, she suffered and enjoyed life as any of us. I¿ll never forget her sweet smile.
Princess Margaret will be truly missed. She was an outstanding person in every way and will be remembered with a lot of warm affection. She was a glamorous figure renowned for her sparkle and great charm. She is now at peace with herself. Wish I was able to pay tribute in person or to even place flowers at the palace gates. We loved you so very much.
Lilias Kelly, Western Australia
As a resident of Hong Kong for over 35 years I distinctly remember Princess
Margaret's visits to Hong Kong such as to inauguate the largest shopping mall that bears a plate in her honour-ocean terminal and Princess Margaret hospital. Her charitable disposition will always be remembered by Hong Kong residents.
I am Scottish, born and bred, but the Royal Family I grew up with. I now live in the USA, but never forget my Homeland. My love and condolences go to my Queen, the Royal Family and the children of Princess Margaret, she loved life and "Did it her way".
In this time of strife God bless the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
Margaret was a glaourous icon of an era I recall from my childhood. An elegant lady who never seemed to find that deep happiness we all look for.
I have a happy memory of Princess Margaret from 1981 when I was chairman of governors of All Saints C of E School in South Wimbledon and we had asked her to open the new school buildings. A 5-year-old girl offered her an empty plastic wendy house tea cup and watched while she sipped once or twice. The teacher reached to take it from her but Princess Margaret said: "Oh no, I haven't finished yet." The pupil was obviously delighted. Princess Margaret's warmth and kindness on that occasion belied the sometimes aloof or self-serving public image of the time. May she rest in peace.
A free spirit has left us and I have to wonder if life would have been better for her if she could have married Peter Townsend so long ago. I would imagine it would not have been considered as a scandal today as it was when I was young and growing up.
Princess Margaret was an unsung member of the Royal Family. She worked very hard for many good causes but chose to keep these out of the limelight. She will be sadly missed. May she rest with the Lord.
David Logan, Australia
As a British citizen is it a sad day to be away from my homeland. This is tragic loss for Queen and country
I saw Princess Margaret in San Francisco in 1995 to attend the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the United Nations, shortly after the death of Captain Peter Townsend. I admire her strength in making such a gracious appearance during what must have been a time of grief and sadness for her.
A stunning loss for the Royal Family. They are in my thoughts and prayers. I choked when I saw Prince Charles speak so lovingly of his aunt. She was kind, and one of a kind. May she rest in peace.
As a child, I grew up with stories of the beatiful and young royal princesses of England. I am truely saddened by the passing of one of my childhood heroines. Please extend my deepest condolences to her Majesty, the members of the Royal Family, and the people of Britain.
Jill Halliwell, Australia
I see Princess Margaret's name every day - the big cancer hospital in Toronto is named after her, and I pass it on my
way to work. I'll remember her as one who extracted much joy from life in the midst of personal troubles. That's
something cancer patients have to do all the time, and a lesson to all of us.
As a little girl after the war in Germany, I loved to see the beautiful Princess Margaret. How much grace, beauty and style. Rest in peace, sweet Margaret.
Organists around the world will remember the late Princess for introducing brides everywhere to the glories of the Toccatta by Widor which she used at her wedding. Since then many of us have spent thousands of hours trying to produce those glorious sounds from less talented fingers on much more primitive instruments. Each time I have done it I have remembered her wedding day.
I was in The Mall at the Queen's Coronation and at the age of 11 was captivated by the Princess's beauty. A sad but full life.
I am really saddened to hear of the death of Princess Margaret. I was fortunate to be chosen as a hostess on her flight to Tobago in 1958 when she came for the West Indian Federation, and was presented to her afterwards. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and wonderful skin I had ever seen. I remember talking to her again on a flight to Barbados, when she played with my baby daughter and she was so warm and friendly. There was great excitement when she passed by the bottom of our road in Trinidad at the start of her honeymoon and we all rushed out to greet them. God bless her and may she rest in peace.
Diana Bowen, USA
I disagree with Joshua, Princess Margaret was not a second Diana, she was the first. In her time she lead the social scene and brightened up many lives, she put the Royal family before her own desires and over the years supported many charities and the arts.
I always thought Princess Margaret the more beautiful and vivacious of the two princesses and that fate treated her unkindly in not being encouraged to marry where her heart lay. Such a lovely lady deserved a fairytale and this was denied her and I feel she was never truly the same again, that she carried sadness behind her lovely eyes. Perhaps she may now have what was denied her in this life. After having done her duty to family and country, after having been such a wonderful lady, she deserves it.
Rebecca Beckett aged 9, England
To her Majesty, The Queen, the Queen's mother, the family of the Princess. On behalf of my family and my mother, brother and sisters and relatives. Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. Our prayers are with you.
One has to feel particularly sorry for her - I doubt that she ever really found the true love that she so desperately needed
Tony Bulz, USA
I am sorry to hear of the passing of a member of the Royal Family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
I felt so bad when I heard the news. She was a wonderful lady. May God grant her eternal peace.
She was a rose. Rest in peace.
God rest her soul, she was a truly devoted Princess and subject of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Princess, mother, daughter, sister and subject, she fulfilled all her roles with dignity, honour and success. May she rest in peace.
My deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time. A truly remarkable woman and a truly remarkable Princess.
A truly sad day for all.
Being 17, I can't really have primary knowledge about her life, but you really don't know what you've had, until it's gone.
Ann Showalter, Texas, USA
I'm very saddened to hear about Princess Margaret's death. My condolences to the Queen, the Queen mother and the entire Royal Family. May she rest in peace.
Princess Margaret is the second of the House of Windsor to die but she is reunited now with her beloved father, King George the Sixth. She will be missed.
A beautiful lady that made me proud of my country when I looked at her. Almost a second Lady Diana.
My sincere condolences to Her Majesty the Queen at this tragic loss, all the more so because this Jubilee year should be one of celebration, not mourning.
It is with a deep sense of sadness that my wife and I send our heartfelt condolences to Her Majesty the Queen, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, HRH Prince Phillip, the children of HRH Princess Margaret, and the Royal Family. The United Kingdom has lost yet another symbol of Grace and Dignity that shall be felt for generations to come. May Almighty God bless, preserve and keep you in this time of greatest sorrow.
I am only 15, maybe too young to understand the Queen's loss, but my prayers are with you. RIP Princess Margaret!
A truly wonderful princess with a zest for life. Rest in peace and may God bless.
I would like to offer my condolences to Princess Margaret's children, and to the Queen, and Queen Mother at this desperately sad time for the whole family.
My sincere condolences to Queen Elizabeth II and our Royal Family, on the passing of Princess Margaret, with a special thought for Elizabeth our Queen Mother.
Rashid Sesay, Sierra Leone
It's really hard to see your loved ones going. May she rest in peace.
My deepest condolences to the Royal Family, particularly her mother.
Sincere sympathy to the Royal Family - what a sad loss for them.
I remember standing by the side of the A650, in East Ardsley, many years ago, as a child, and waving to her as she passed by. I am sorry to hear of her passing, she was a great Royal.
I am very sad to hear of the death of HRH Princess Margaret. My thoughts are with the Royal Family at this moment and would just like to add that Princess Margaret was one of the more genuine royals who liked to be herself. Rest in peace
Condolences to the whole of the Royal Family. Goodbye Princess Margaret.
I would like to send my condolences to the entire Royal Family and to the friends of HRH Princess Margaret. She was a wonderful person, who will be sadly missed by all. She didn't find true love in this world. May she find it in the next.
Rest in peace.
I have no idea what type of lady the Princess was only that she had to be a wonderful person born in a wonderful country that you have. My regrets and condolences go out to this fantastic family. She is certainly in a more comfortable and peaceful place than where you and I are, you can be sure of that. May God bless your beautiful country.
I wish to offer my condolences to all the Royal Family on their sad loss today.
HRH Princess Margaret will be remembered as a loving daughter to HRH Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and a good support to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. My sympathies to the entire Royal Family and especially to Princess Margaret's children and grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
It's 6am here and I just heard the sad news. The best times of my life were the times I spent in England. My thoughts and prayers are with the Queen and the Queen Mum, as well as the rest of the family, and the people of the UK on their loss of this great woman. Rest in Peace, Princess Margaret.
Our hearts and thoughts are with Her Majesty and the Royal Family on this very sad occasion. Princess Margaret was a wonderful ambassador for our Royalty and will be sadly missed by many. God bless the Queen.
Pádraig Kennedy, UK
This lady will be missed, I always admired her for her work and she was one of the many women I looked up to. I send my condolences to the whole Royal Family for their loss.
So sorry for the family and the general public. She will be sorely missed.
We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Royal Highness
Princess Margaret. Our thoughts are with the Queen, the Queen Mother
and the rest of the Royal Family at this moment of sadness.
For the Queen the death will come as a double blow because it is in the year of her Golden Jubilee. May she rest in peace.
I have woken up to this dreadful news. Margaret will be sadly and dearly missed by all. My family's condolences go out to the entire Royal Family.
To the younger generation, I imagine the passing of the Princess will not be as much of a shock. But for those who lived through the war years and particularly those who were children in that era, there will always be fond memories of young Princess Elizabeth and little Margaret Rose. Her passing reminds us that we are all getting a little older. She will be missed.
I am shocked, but thankful that her family was there to say goodbye. You will not be forgotten.
Our condolences to all the family and friends from all ex-pats in Kazakhstan. She will be missed by many quiet admirers.
Chris and Maggie, Zimbabwe
A beautiful human being.
I always admired Princess Margaret for her impeccable style, dignified comportment, and unflagging support for her sister, the Queen. She put duty before her own happiness and will be always remembered for the service she performed for her country. I would like to extend sympathy to Her Majesty the Queen, the Queen Mother, her children, and the entire Royal Family.
Princess Margaret will for me always be remembered as a beautiful young girl during the grim years of WW2.
Britain has not only lost a great lady and passionate Princess, but HM, The Queen, has lost her best and truest friend in this - her great jubilee year. My deepest sorrow to HM The Queen, HM The Queen Mother and the children of HRH Princess Margaret. May you rest in peace.
Gery Cabeke, Belgium
I am very deeply saddened by the loss of HRH Princess Margaret. She was a glamorous and dutiful member of the royal family, the embodiment of what a Princess should be. She will be greatly missed, and I convey my sincere sympathy to HM The Queen and HM The Queen Mother.
A wonderful lady who experienced the difficult life that comes with growing up as the second in line to the throne.
Penny Wade, England
A sad day for the human family that loved her grace and identified with her mistakes.
Very sorry to hear the news, always thought that she was forced into the wrong decision on Peter Townsend. I met her once and was very impressed.
Princess Margaret was obviously a wonderful and intelligent Princess with a great love of life and its pleasures.
What a sad day for the Royal family. Margaret was a great royal, I met her 16 years ago when she visited my school, she took time and spoke to most people, a great lady.
You were such a brave and courageous lady. We will miss you. Deepest sympathy to the royal family
May you Rest In Peace and Rise in glory I would like to say thank you for all the support that you gave to London Light House you became our Patron when things where tough and there was lots of stigma against HIV and Aids but you saw us through.
What's all this about a "low key funeral". It is Princess Margaret's nature to love a big party! I think the very least that the Royal Family can do is to send her off as she would have liked. If it had been up to her she would have married the man she loved in the 50's and she would have been a totally different person. My guess is she would want as big a party as possible. She deserves it.
My thoughts are with all her family - may her soul rest finally in peace.
My heartfelt condolences go the entire Royal Family. Princess Margaret will be missed by many.
Meda M. White, Texas, USA
I would like to personally extend my sympathies to her Majesty the Queen in this time of sadness and loss. But I truly hope that this will not overshadow the great joy that is yet to come as we celebrate Her Majesty's Jubilee. God keep you all, God save the Queen.
I shall always remember Princess Margaret as a wonderful, caring person, and a gracious member of the royal family. My condolences to all her family.
She was a true British patriot and hard working royal whose death only serves to remind us of the strong Royal institution we have. I am moved by her passing.
Margaret was always the prettier, younger, and rebellious than her older sister Elizabeth, however, she was always loyal and had a great sense of duty to her sister and to her royal role. I sincerely send my condolences and my hope that Her Majesty and The Royal Family will celebrate and reflect upon a life of a princess that was loved and admired.
As a Queen's Scout I was part of a Guard of Honour for the Princess many years ago at a Gang show in Golders Green. I was stationed at the bottom of a narrow staircase. Princess Margaret came down the staircase watching her footing in a ball gown. Near the bottom she looked up and saw me standing there. She smiled and pierced me to the core. At the moment I am weeping.
All thoughts and prayers are with the Queen and her family on this truly sad loss. Princess Margaret will truly be missed all over the world
Princess Margaret - one of the pioneers for modernising the Royal family - sometimes antagonistic but so forward thinking too. I'm no Royalist but I feel very saddened at her death.
Helen Smith, The Netherlands
RIP HRH Princess Margaret. I really feel for the Queen Mother. No-one should have to endure the loss of child in their lifetime, and that is what HRH Margaret is after all even though she is 71. RIP.
I am deeply saddened at the loss of The Princess Margaret. Her Royal Highness was held in deep affection by many thousands of Australians who like myself always welcomed her to our shores with much enthusiasm and devotion.
HRH Princess Margaret, god bless you and rest in peace. I hope Your Highness will find your happiness in heaven and meet all the people you have sacrificed for your duty as a Princess of United Kingdom. You truly made the ultimate sacrifice, personal happiness and love.
Mary Thit, Australia
Our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family in their sad loss of a mother, sister and daughter. Princess Margaret will always be remembered. At Peace now, in God's keeping.
I'm sorry that Princess Margaret has died. She always struck me as an unhappy lady who made the best of the unfair hand that was dealt to her, and without her having any say in it.
It is so sad to hear of the loss of a special lady who has never failed in her commitment to a life time of service to her Country. Our thoughts are with our Royal Family at this difficult and sad time.
She was one to be admired. She struggled to live life her way despite all traditions. It's a sad loss for the Royal Family as well as for England.
I am a member of the Guide Association, and I think that I speak for everyone in the Association when I say it is a very sad loss to all of our members.
I was very lucky to have met and shook hands and had a 1 to 1 conversation with Her Royal Highness, Princess Margaret at the Torquay Royal Show many years ago. My wife and I send our love and condolences to
Queen Elizabeth and to The Queen Mother.
She always struck me as having a great sense of fun, despite some of the sadness she had to bear. Such a sad start to the Jubilee year, she will be greatly missed.
HRH was a treasure to all. I used to enjoy watching her arriving in Glasgow, knowing she was Royalty in the true sense of the word. She will be missed.
"My thoughts are with the Queen, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and the rest of the Royal Family at this sad time."
I want to express to the Royal family and to whole of the English people my deepest sympathies. It was very sad to hear of the princesses death. Our prayers for the family

My heartfelt condolences to all.
Mrs Jean A Ball, England
One of the most "human" royals I've seen. Rest in peace, and sincere condolences to her family members.
Princess Margaret - the 'original' fun member of our Royal Family. She will be sadly missed by many.
May Princess Margaret rest in peace - and rise in glory!
Jodie Wafer, UK
She was born at a time when the monarchy was respected much more than it is today. Her great tragedy was that, as a highly intelligent woman, she had no real outlet for her undoubted abilities. The public were aware of her personal misfortunes - many will feel sad today at her passing, but others will feel that she belonged to a generation of Royalty that had little relevance to their own lives.
Here in Hong Kong, although we're no longer a British colony, I would still like to send my condolences to the British royal family for the sad loss of Princess Margaret. Her legacy in Hong Kong is survived by two institution/landmark that were named after her, namely the Princess Margaret Hospital and the Princess Margaret Road.
What a sad loss for Her Majesty the Queen in this her Jubilee year. To lose your own flesh and blood is very hard to forget. May the Royal Family console each other and remember the wonderful times they shared throughout Princess Margaret's life. I pray that she knew she was loved.
Princess Margaret was the perfect Princess. Dutiful, loyal, charitable and above all, full of life. How sad for Her Majesty the Queen on her Jubilee year. My deepest condolences to the Royal Family.
From your admirers, subjects and ex-pats in the United States, may you rest in peace Princess Margaret - you were an example of a strong and courageous lady. Our most sincere thoughts are with Your Majesty the Queen and the entire Royal Family.
I am very sorry to hear about the death of Princess Margaret. My thoughts and prayers are for the Royal family.
I'm sorry she's gone. She was the member of the royal family I admired and liked the most. This is a shock
My thoughts are with the Queen and the Royal Family, a kind hard working charitable person has been lost.
Terry Lee, England
A formidable lady, much loved for her humility and kindness. She lived in the shadow of the Queen and had much sadness in her life - She will be missed.
This HRH was a real HRH.
I met her once in my life she was open-minded friendly charming. May god give her the peace she never had in her live. May god let her rest on his side. With shadow of sadness on my heart I say goodbye you real HRH.
We have lost a true lady, and a wonderful character. Rest in Peace your Highness and I'm sure that I speak for most of the world when I say that our thoughts are with Her Majesty the Queen and Her Majesty the Queen Mother.

I have just woken up to this dreadful news....how awful.
You were one of the true royals.
