Germany's Katja Seizinger collected her second gold of the Games when she won the women's combined slalom event.

The 25-year-old millionaire's daughter, who on Monday became the first person to ever successfully defend their downhill title, held off a furious challenge from team-mates Martina Ertl and Hilde Gerg.

"Its incredible. I had to come down twice and I did. I was hoping for silver or bronze but to get the gold. This season I really have had quite a bit of luck," beamed the German.

Ertl started the second run over half a second off Seizinger but although she closed the gap it was not enough and she had to settle for the silver.

Gertg took the bronze to make it a clean sweep, the first women's alpine clean sweep since 1964 in Innsbruck when the Austrians managed it.

Seizinger got a major break when in the first run her biggest rival, defending Olympic champion Pernilla Wiberg of Sweden, crashed out after missing a gate.
