Feuding French make peace
Stephane Castaignede failled to impress at scrum-half against Fiji
French coach Jean-Claude Skrela has swallowed his pride and recalled scrum-half Fabien Galthie for their quarter-final clash against Argentina.
Galthie was dropped from France's original World Cup squad and consequently had a public spat with Skrela.
But injuries have left the French coach with no choice but to turn to Galthie.
First-choice scrum-half Philippe Carbonneau was injured before the World Cup and his deputy, Pierre Mignoni, was ruled out with a thigh strain after just two matches.
Stephane Castaignede was handed the No 9 jersey against Fiji but failed to impress as the French edged a nervous win.
Galthie, a veteran of two World Cups, is one of four changes to the side which started that match.
Xavier Garbajosa replaces Ugo Mola at fullback, with Emile Ntamack staying at centre.
With Fabien Pelous and Christian Califano suspended for violent play, Skrela has been forced to alter the forward line-up.
Toulouse prop Cedric Soulette is a surprise replacement ahead of South African-born Peter de Villiers while Olivier Brouzet comes in for Pelous.
