Button fined for speeding

Formula One driver Jenson Button has been fined £500 for speeding on a French motorway.
The Williams-BMW ace was reprimanded by police after being caught driving his BMW at a speed of 144 mph on Saturday.
"There will be no implications in terms of points on his licence. He has just received a mandatory fine." Despite Button's wealth of experience of driving at speed, he is restricted to driving diesel cars on the European mainland, until he reaches the age of 21.
And the 20-year-old is asking for help from team boss and former F1 driver Gerhard Berger, in order to understand the complexities presented by the daunting Monte Carlo circuit. The young apprentice's place is currently under threat by test driver Juan Pablo Montoya, and he knows a good performance next weekend would help secure his seat in the Williams team. "Yet again, I'm racing on a completely unfamiliar circuit," Button said. "But I'm planning to do a few laps of this street circuit in a BMW road car with Gerhard. "Gerhard's advice always proves invaluable during these exercises and of all the races on the calendar this is where I'll probably need it most."
