Celtic duo on song again

Johnson celebrates with Viduka
Celtic 4-0 Motherwell

Tommy Johnson scored two more goals as Eyal Berkovic inspired Celtic to a comfortable home win.

The Isreali international was in fine form all night, scoring the second himself, while Regi Blinker completed the rout.

Motherwell's misery was completed by striker Don Goodman being stretchered off after collapsing near the end of the first period, although he did return to watch some of the second half.

Key moments
9: Johnson's free kick
32: Berkovic taps in as Goodman stretchered off
75: Johnson lobs Woods
76: Blinker scores with low shot
Berkovic has fought his way back into the Celtic side with interim manager Kenny Dalglish having been reluctant to play him and Lubomir Moravcik in the same side.

For this game the Slovakian was forced to make way as Mark Viduka returned to the starting line-up.

Berkovic was given a hero's welcome by the Celtic fans despite his controversial goal celebration towards them last Sunday.

The Israeli started in lively fashion, sending Blinker away down the left in the first minute.

The Dutchman's fierce effort was spilled by Motherwell keeper Stephen Woods but he gathered at the second attempt.

I've always said that he's a brilliant player and there's got to be a way of getting a player of Eyal's ability on the pitch to play for us

Kenny Dalglish
A minute later Berkovic himself came close with an effort from the edge of the area.

But it was Johnson who scored first with a terrific free-kick that left Woods rooted to the spot from 20 yards.

Celtic still looked vulnerable at the back and Goodman was allowed space in the box before Celtic keeper Jonathan Gould comfortably dealt with his effort.

Viduka also came agonisingly close to make a scoring return in the 18th minute when he hit the crossbar from Berkovic's corner.

The doctor said it was something to do with his nervous system and obviously we were a bit concerned when he conked out

Billy Davies on Goodman
Celtic doubled their lead just after the half-hour with Johnson again involved after a confusing series of events.

The former Aston Villa striker was aided by young defender Stephen Creaney to set up for Berkovic to tap in.

During the build-up to the goal, Goodman staggered and collapsed to the ground on the halfway line.

The Motherwell physio ran on to the pitch with some urgency and the striker was stretchered off.

The visitors wasted another chance before half-time when Sasa Curcic was found by McMillan but he blazed high over the Celtic bar.

Celtic's Stilian Petrov shot straight at the goalkeeper three minutes after the break, again after fine work from Berkovic.

Four minutes later the Isreali shot at goal himself but the effort was just too weak and Woods gathered comfortably.

Viduka misses

Viduka spurned another gilt-edged chance before Celtic finally scored their third, and Johnson's second.

Benito Kemble's header to his goalkeeper was just too short and the striker showed great awareness to lob Woods in the 75th minute.

Moments later Blinker made it four with a low shot past Woods while in the 80th minute Viduka should have made it five.

The Australian was through on goal but his shot went straight at the Motherwell goalkeeper.
