Suker becomes a Hammer
Davor Suker
Davor Suker will be playing for West Ham next season
West Ham have completed the signing of Davor Suker from Arsenal on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old Croatian international striker has signed a two-year deal with the Hammers.

Sukur joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for 3.5m last summer and scored 11 goals in 39 appearances, 24 of which were as a substitute.

But his chances of first team action diminished once Thierry Henry settled at Highbury and a move to Upton Park has been talked off since the turn of the year.

His goalscoring record speaks for itself, even at Arsenal where his first team opportunities were limited

Harry Redknapp

"I believe Davor will prove a terrific signing for West Ham. His goalscoring record speaks for itself, even at Arsenal where his first team opportunities were limited," said Hammers manager Harry Redknapp.

"I'm sure we will create plenty of chances for Davor in the coming season and he'll prove a massive hit with the fans."

Suker, who won the Golden Boot at World Cup 98 with six goals, scored 110 goals in 220 games for Real Madrid helping them win the Spanish League title in 1997 and the Champions League in 1998.
