Robson charged over ref row
![]() Robson's charge relates to Boro's 2-1 defeat by Coventry
The Football Association has charged Middlesbrough manager Bryan Robson with misconduct, following a furious outburst at referee Neale Barry.
Robson was reported by the Scunthorpe official following comments made in the wake of his side's 2-1 defeat at Coventry City on April 15. It is the latest official reprimand for Middlesbrough, who also face a charge of failing to control their players following an incident in the 4-3 defeat by Manchester United on April 10.
Both charges comes in the wake of the FA's clampdown on bad behaviour by players and club officials. An FA spokesman said: "I can confirm that Bryan Robson has been charged with misconduct. "This is following the FA giving consideration to the comments he made immediately after the Coventry v Middlesbrough game to referee Neale Barry. He will have 14 days to respond." The FA issued a directive to all clubs on February 15 amid a spiralling number of incidents in which officials had been confronted by angry players.
