Dundee draw breaks Hearts

Dundee 0-0 Hearts

Hearts' dream of playing in Europe next season took a dent as Dundee held out for a goalless draw at Dens Park.

In fact, the Dark Blues looked the better of the two sides and squandered a series of outstanding chances to let the visitors off the hook.

Hearts' boss Jim Jefferies may have thought himself lucky after a series of dreadful performances against Dundee, despite the fact that his club has only lost one league game since Christmas.

I'm the manager at the club and manager of the team and that's the only thing I'm concerned with

Dundee manager Jocky Scott
Dundee's only league win at home this season was against the Tynecastle club.

For the home side, Willie Falconer had a clear run on goal early but shot ridiculously wide.

It was just one of a series of bizarre finishes that must have left Dundee wondering what they had to do to score.

Whatever the answer was, they failed to find it and as the match ended goalless, questions turned to the controversy surrounding Dundee manager Jocky Scott.

It has been revealed that three players were signed to the club before the transfer deadline without Scott's knowledge, sparking speculation that he is on his way out.

Scott, who has six weeks to run on his contract, refused to speak about the incident.

"I'm the manager at the club and manager of the team and that's the only thing I'm concerned with," he said.

"I want to be here for the next eight years, but I don't decide that.

"I have a job to do and we have got a game next week against Motherwell and I have got to prepare the team for that."
