About 2,000 Chelsea fans are making their way to Marseille
French police have reportedly detained seven Chelsea football fans following an alleged assault on four people in Lyon.

The supporters were on their way to Marseille where Chelsea resume their Champions League campaign on Tuesday night.

The Agence France Presse agency says they were arrested over an alleged assault on four people in Lyon metro station and a security person who tried to intervene.

Marseille Police are expecting about 2,000 Chelsea supporters at the the Stade Velodrome and seven hundred police officers have been put on stand-by.

Two year's ago the city was the scene of pitched battles involving England fans on the eve of their World Cup tie with Tunisia.
