Wallwork life-ban dropped
Manchester United defender Ronnie Wallwork has escaped a life-ban for allegedly attacking a referee.
The 22-year-old centre-half - on loan to Royal Antwerp - was banned after he allegedly grabbed official Amand Ancion by the throat after a Belgian Second Division play-off match at the end of last season.
Danny Higginbotham - also on loan from Manchester United - had originally been banned for one year after his part in the incident.
But the 20-year-old has had his suspension cut to four months.
Palmer sent to Coventry
Nottingham Forest midfielder Carlton Palmer has joined Coventry on loan with a view to a permanent £500,000 switch to Highfield Road.
The 33-year-old seemed certain to join his former club Sheffield Wednesday.
But Gordon Strachan's side have secured the services of the former Leeds and Southampton star for an initial three months.
The former England midfielder has been out of favour at Forest since the arrival of David Platt as manager.
Fifteen down at Scunthorpe
A mystery illness has decimated Scunthorpe boss Brian Laws' team ahead of their clash against Bristol city at Glanford Park.
A total of 15 players are ill, with Justin Walker, Richard Logan and Gareth Sheldon all doubtful for the game.
Scunthorpe are currently lying 17th in Nationwide League Division Two.
