SA romp into Sharjah final
![]() Man of the match: Nantie Hayward is mobbed
Undefeated South Africa have strolled into the final of the Sharjah Cup with a six-wicket win over India.
The victory virtually assures that India will be knocked out even if Pakistan lose their final round-robin match against the Proteas on Tuesday.
Pakistan have the same number of points, but a far superior run-rate to India.
Paceman Nantie Hayward claimed the man-of-the-match award with a haul of four wickets for just 31 as India were skittled out for 164 in just 48.5 overs. But South Africa made hard work of chasing the Indians' meagre total, losing Herschelle Gibbs and Lance Klusener off successive balls from Venkatesh Prasad to leave them precariously balanced on 30-2. Jacques Kallis led them home after riding his luck with a dropped catch by Ajay Jadeja while he was on 31. He went on to an unbeaten 53, including two fours and two sixes. He formed a match-winning partnership of 71 with skipper Hansie Cronje, who belted a six to secure victory and finish on 42 not out. Scoreboard
