Boxer Chris Eubank has left hospital after being detained for observation following his defeat in a gruelling 12-round cruiserweight championship contest.
A brain scan lifted fears that he suffered any serious injury when he lost the WBO world cruiserweight title challenge to title-holder Carl Thompson.
Eubank, a former WBO middleweight and super-middleweight champion, was kept overnight in Manchester Royal Infirmary "purely for observation" after being assessed by doctors, according a to hospital spokesman.
A spokesman said on Sunday: "All the tests have been completed and Mr Eubank has left the hospital."
Members of Eubank's family are said to have spent the day at his bedside.
Promoter Frank Warren said earlier: "From what I understand it's in relation to his eye.
"His eye was rather swollen in the fight and they've had to relieve that by putting a small cut in to release the blood.
"There is always a level of concern when a guy goes to hospital but I don't think we're talking about brain injuries or anything like that, thank God."
The flamboyant boxer's eye started to swell during the fourth round of his bout at Manchester's Nynex Arena with Carl Thompson. Eubank lost on a unanimous points decision after 12 rounds in what was his 23rd world title fight.
Despite the defeat and his injuries, the team in his corner hoisted him on to their shoulders and paraded him around the ring.
A number of boxers including Frank Bruno and Gary Mason have been treated at Manchester Royal Infirmary in the past.
