Ken Buchanan celebrates his achievement
Former world lightweight champion Ken Buchanan has become the first living British boxer to enter the US Boxing Hall of Fame.

The 55-year-old, who once shared top billing with Muhammed Ali, was a hugely popular character in the States where he defended his title twice, before succumbing to a low blow by legendary Roberto Duran in June 1972 at Madison Square Garden.

Buchanan won the world title in September 1970 against Ismael Laguna of Panama and made a successful defence five months later against Ruben Navarro in Los Angeles.
