McGrath looking for move to England

Glenn McGrath stares down Sherwin Campbell

Fast bowler Glenn McGrath could be in line for a season of county cricket in England next year.

The 29-year-old, currently touring the West Indies with the Australian tour party, has not stated which team he will be looking to align himself with, but has confirmed that he is looking to finalise arrangements as soon as possible.

McGrath, who has been selected for the World Cup side, is looking to play Test cricket for another five years, to give himself the chance to overtake Dennis Lillee's total of wickets taken.

He was outstanding in the recent Test series with the West Indies, injecting life into the Australian attack and helping them to retain the Frank Worrell trophy.

But he has been warned by Australian coach Geoff Marsh of the possibility of burn-out, having played almost non-stop cricket since last September.
