Eisteddfod ponders Millennium prose

The Welsh flag is the dress of the season

The words that will decorate the side of the proposed Wales Millennium Centre are providing a talking point at the National Eisteddfod on Thursday.

BBC Wales's Sian Lloyd reports from the Eisteddfod field
Suggestions are being sought from Eisteddfod-goers on the wording to be inscribed on the £70m arts centre building, which will be the centrepiece of Cardiff Bay.

Members of the Gorsedd have been invited to offer their views.

So far, these have ranged from sentiments about peace to images symbolic of Wales - such as the leek.

On Wednesday, the Eisteddfod recovered from a day of bad weather and sadness with prizes and sunshine.

Events the day before were overshadowed by a serious car accident on the route to the gathering, in which several people were hurt.

A return of hot, settled weather saw queues of cars caught up on the narrow roads of Anglesey to reach the Maes for the day's events.

In the main pavilion, the serious business of prize-giving continued, with Sonia Edwards, from Llangefni, winning the prose medal for her work When Tomorrow Comes.

BBC Wales Controller Geraint Talfan Davies, also announced the launch of a new Welsh language electronic newspaper for Wales on the Internet.
