Brown forced into silence
Scotland's, Kevin Gallacher, will miss the clash
Eng v Scot, 17 Nov, kick-off 2000 GMT
Scotland coach, Craig Brown, will delay naming his side for Wednesday's do-or-die encounter with England until the last possible moment.
Everton's Don Hutchison is battling to recover from a calf strain and Newcastle striker Kevin Gallacher misses the match after receiving another yellow card.
McSwegan is now fully recovered from the ankle injury which caused him to miss Saturday's game and remains Brown's preferred choice.
If Hutchison is ruled out it could mean the start for McSwegan's Tynecastle team-mate Colin Cameron, who many believe should already be an integral part of the Scotland side.
Despite the apparent hopelessness of their task, the Scotland squad remain in optimistic mood.
Speaking at Glasgow airport, Brown said: "We have never lost two games in a row in my six years in charge and we are determined to keep that record.
"If we get an early goal it will put them under pressure and you never know how England will react.
"The mood is positive. We are very determined and we will go down there and try to reverse the result which went against us on Saturday."
