Eight Americans - who were working for the CIA - have been killed in a suicide attack inside a base in south-eastern Afghanistan.
Six Americans were also wounded when when the bomber managed to get inside the base in Khost province, close to the border with Pakistan.
In a separate incident, four Canadian soldiers and a journalist were killed in a roadside bomb attack in Kandahar.
