Pakistan checkpoint bomb kills 10

A suicide car bomber has attacked a police checkpoint in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing at least 10 people and injuring 25, officials say.

The attacker blew up his explosives-laden car as policemen went to search it in the Pushta Khara area.

Peshawar has been regularly targeted by militants in recent weeks as the army continues its offensive against the Taliban in the South Waziristan.
