How to counter a pirate attack

Pirates present an increasing threat to vessels in the Indian and South Atlantic Oceans, with those working from Somalia extending their operation further into the seas.

But there are some tricks crews can use to minimise the chances of an attack on their craft succeeding.

The BBC's transport correspondent Richard Scott met up with a team from the Merchant Maritime Warfare Centre for some guidance.
