Ahmadinejad speech angers delegates

The Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has told the General Assembly it is not acceptable that a minority of countries dominate the politics, economy and culture of the world.

In what's being seen as an indirect reference to the row over Iran's nuclear ambitions, he spoke of countries which undermined the development of other nations, under the pretext of preventing arms proliferation.

A number of delegates walked out in protest as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared an end to the "Age of Empires".
