Suicide bomb kills top Afghan official

Afghanistan's deputy chief of intelligence, Abdullah Laghmani, has been killed after a suicide attack in the east of the country.

The governor of Laghman province has confirmed that at least 22 people were killed in the blast which occurred during the inauguration of a new mosque.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, told AP news agency a suicide bomber had targeted Mr Laghmani.
