Afghan rivers 'dried up'

The United Nations says reservoirs, dams and rivers have dried up in many areas of south west Afghanistan as the devastating drought which has hit much of the region continues.

The drought has forced many Afghans to try to dig wells in the river bed in an attempt to sell water.

Electricity supplies have also been sharply reduced from hydroelectric sources.
