Obama praises Afghans' courage

US President Obama has praised the participation of the millions of Afghans who voted in the presidential election despite the threat of violence.

The Obama administration made Afghanistan its top foreign policy priority, with almost 68,000 US troops involved in operations there.

Kim Ghattas reports from Washington.
