Body of German tourist found

German embassy officials have identified the body of a German tourist who was abducted and killed by suspected militants in Indian-administered Kashmir last month.

Rolf Harfurth's body was recovered on Thursday from a gorge south-east of Srinagar.

Police say Mr Harfurth was abducted while he was trekking in the Ladakh region and was later shot dead.

No militant organisation has claimed responsibility for Mr Harfurth's abduction and police have not named any group.
