UN to press for Sri Lankan access

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has outlined the proposals that he hopes to discuss with the Sri Lankan government.

Mr Ban said he hoped for unrestricted access for aid agencies to help civilians caught up in fighting against Tamil Tiger rebels.

Mr Ban will be visiting an area in Vavuniya, where most of the displaced are held.
