How sea level rise has affected the Maldives

Rising sea levels and coastal erosion are causing widespread damage in the Maldives.

The new government in the country is now looking at new ideas for dealing with the problem, including building villages on stilts.

The BBC's Chris Morris took a walk along the beach with Maldives' vice president Dr. Mohammed Waheed Hassan.
