Dalai Lama leaves Indian hospital

The Dalai Lama has left hospital in the Indian capital, Delhi, nearly a week after undergoing surgery to remove gallstones.

A spokesman for the Tibetan spiritual leader said he was now fully recovered.

The 73-year-old Nobel peace laureate has been advised by doctors to cut down on foreign travel and to rest more. He complained of stomach pains in August.

The Dalai Lama has lived in Dharamsala, in northern India, since fleeing Tibet after an abortive uprising in 1959.
