Civilians killed in Afghan blast

At least nine civilians have been killed in a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistan, officials say.

The blast in Uruzgan province was apparently intended to target Nato troops but hit a small bus instead.

Provincial police chief Juma Gul Hemat blamed the "enemies of Afghanistan", a term used to refer to the Taleban.

Nato said three of its soldiers died in a bomb blast in the east. Earlier, a provincial official and his bodyguard were shot dead in the city of Kandahar.
