Vendrell: 'So many mistakes'

The outgoing EU envoy to Afghanistan, Francesc Vendrell says 'so many mistakes' were made by the west in its diplomatic relations with Afghanistan.

He said the situation would not fail but there was a 'hell of a lot' to do to get things right.

In an interview with Stephen Sackur for BBC's HARDtalk, he described his thoughts on stepping down after six years in the post.
