Seven die in Pakistan mine blast
A build-up of methane gas has been blamed for an explosion at a coal mine in Pakistan , in which seven workers died and another thirteen were injured. According to Pakistan's state-run news agency, the injured were freed in a three-hour rescue operation and taken to hospital. The mine was closed and Pakistan's chief inspector of mines Ghulam Sarwar Lodhi ordered an investigation into the accident. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
