Seven die in Pakistan mine blast

A build-up of methane gas has been blamed for an explosion at a coal mine in Pakistan , in which seven workers died and another thirteen were injured.

According to Pakistan's state-run news agency, the injured were freed in a three-hour rescue operation and taken to hospital.

The mine was closed and Pakistan's chief inspector of mines Ghulam Sarwar Lodhi ordered an investigation into the accident.
