Two killed in Kashmir 'revenge'

Militants in Indian-administered Kashmir have killed an ex-comrade and his father, police say.

The incident happened in Kishtwar town in Doda district when Mohammad Amin and his father had their throats slit.

Police say Amin and his father may have been killed by former militant colleagues because he surrendered to the army last year.

He was a member of a member of the Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami militant group, police say.

Amin, 26, and his father, Ahmad Baksh, had recently moved to Kishtwar town. Correspondents say there have been a number of such attacks on ex-militants and their families.

The surrendered militants often move to towns as they feel insecure in remote villages where they fear punitive action from militant groups.
