Seventeen die in Tamil Nadu crash
At least 17 people have been killed in southern India after a train ploughed into their vehicle at an unmanned level crossing, officials say.

The victims, most of whom were farm labourers, were sharing the vehicle on their way to work in Tamil Nadu state when the accident happened.

The crash occurred not far from the temple town of Kanchipuram, about 60km (35 miles) from state capital Madras.

Kancheepuram police chief A Amalraj told Reuters there were no survivors.
