Three people were killed in a plane crash at the main airport in the southern Afghan province of Helmand on Monday, the US military has said.
The plane tried to avoid a truck on the runway
At least six people were also injured when a civilian plane crashed after overrunning the runway in Lashkar Gah town, a military statement said.
The plane attempted to avoid a truck and overran the runway before crashing into a nearby village.
Security officials say it is not clear how many people were on board.
The airport has in the past been criticised for the poor quality of its runway and for the fact that residential houses may have been built too close to the runway.
