'Militants' shot dead in Kashmir
Officials in Indian-administered Kashmir say five separatist militants have been shot dead trying to cross the Line of Control dividing the region.

An Indian army spokesman said the militants opened fire on Indian soldiers in the Machil area and were killed when the troops shot back.

The army said an Indian soldier also died in the exchange.

The spokesman said a search was being made for any other militants who might be in the area.
