UN resumes Pakistan aid flights
US helicopter aid in Pakistan
Helicopter supplies are still vital in the quake zone
The UN has resumed aid flights to earthquake-hit areas of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, officials say.

The flights were stopped on Sunday after heavy rain and snow disrupted relief operations.

A UN spokesman said helicopters would be flying extra sorties to make up for lost time and deliver supplies.

Pakistan says the 8 October quake killed more than 73,000 people and displaced millions of others.

UN spokesman Ben Malor told AFP news agency that all aid flights had resumed on Wednesday.

"All helicopter flights resumed this morning. They are back and trying to catch up by deploying all available helicopters to cover all routes as quickly as possible," he said.

Heavy rain and snow have continued to hinder relief efforts in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Former US President George Bush Senior had to cancel a trip to the quake zone on Tuesday because of the bad weather.
