India, Bangladesh border dispute
India and Bangladesh have blamed each other for the death of an Indian army officer and at least one Bangladeshi civilian in a border clash.

India said the man was dragged across the border in Tripura state and killed while investigating the reported kidnapping of a local villager.

Bangladesh accused India's Border Security Force of an unprovoked attack on its territory.

Correspondents say border clashes between the two nations are common.

On Monday the acting Bangladeshi high commissioner in India was summoned to the Indian foreign ministry in Delhi to hear an official protest.
