Afghan governor survives bombing
The governor of the southern Afghan province of Helmand has survived a bomb attack in the provincial capital, Lashkar Gah, officials said.

A vehicle packed with explosives was detonated as the governor, Sher Mohammad, got out of his car to go into his office.

The bomber died from his injuries but no-one else was hurt in the explosion.

Helmand is one of several southern provinces where there are frequent attacks by suspected Taleban rebels.
