'Bengalis stranded' along border
Officials in the Indian state of West Bengal say troops have stopped nearly 200 people crossing the border illegally from Bangladesh.

Indian officials say the Bangladeshi border police have refused to let the people back into Bangladesh, forcing them into no-man's land.

The incident happened in the Dinajpur area of the border.

Indian officials say over the last week they have made several attempts to push back illegal migrants from Bangladesh.

India frequently alleges that Bangladeshi immigrants enter its territory illegally across the porous border, but Bangladesh denies that any of its citizens emigrate illegally to India.
