A Swiss man has died after a grenade was thrown at his home in the Batticaloa district of Sri Lanka.
Police suspect Tamil Tigers carried out the attack, but truce monitors have found no evidence of their involvement.
No group has claimed responsibility.
Hans Ulrich, 61, was taken to hospital but died of his injuries. He had lived in Sri Lanka for several years.
There has been factional fighting in the Batticaloa area since a split in the Tamil Tiger movement in March.
But some reports say Mr Ulrich's death could be related to a family dispute.
In a separate incident being blamed on the feuding between rival Tiger groups, a man was shot dead and at least two others wounded in Colombo.
