Thousands of mourners in Indian administered Kashmir have taken part in the funeral procession of the uncle of a senior moderate separatist leader.
Moulvi Mushtaq was shot and wounded by unidentified attackers while he was offering prayers in a mosque in Srinagar on 29 May.
A general strike is being observed in Srinagar as a mark of respect for Mr Mushtaq, who died on Monday night.
Two little known militant groups have admitted responsibility for the attack.
Attack condemned
The BBC's Altaf Hussain in Srinagar says that the Save Kashmir Movement and another group called Kissas-ul-Mujahideen say they carried out the shooting.
Mr Mushtaq was a well-known figure in the main separatist alliance, the All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC).
He was the uncle of a senior moderate Kashmiri separatist leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Hurriyat leaders condemned the attack, and pledged that negotiations with Delhi would continue.
"For the resolution of the Kashmir dispute, talks will continue, nothing will stop it," said APHC leader Abbas Ansari.
But the negotiations are opposed by a splinter group of the APHC, which says the moderates have made too many concessions to the Indian government.
Around 40,000 people have been killed since the separatist insurgency in Kashmir began in 1989.
