A British teacher has been killed in a shooting incident in the central Pakistan town of Multan.
Allan Cox, 50, a secondary school teacher, was killed while sitting
in his rented house, local police said.
The former Manchester resident had been living in the city for over six years, said police chief Hamid Mukhtar Gondal.
"He was a tutor by profession. We are investigating this case from all aspects as to whether it is terrorist activity, or personal enmity," he said.
"We are contacting his students to know about the people who used to meet him daily or sit with him," he told the AFP news agency.
Investigations
A Foreign Office spokesman said the British High Commission in Islamabad had been informed about the man's death and was liaising with authorities to find out how and why the man died.
Fourteen people have been detained for questioning in connection with the attack, according to the AFP news agency.
The agency quoted police chief Mr Gondal as saying he did not believe the death was connected to anti-British involvement in Iraq in the first instance.
"It doesn't look so, but we are investigating," he said.
