India bus plunge kills 34
A bus has crashed into a ravine in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, killing 34 passengers and injuring 35.

The overcrowded bus left the road and plunged into the 18-metre ravine on the Mandi to Loran road about 220km north-west of the state's winter capital, Jammu, police said.

Twenty-nine people died at the scene and five later. Five of the injured are in a serious condition.

The bus was only fitted to seat 35 people.

Another accident on the same road on Monday killed 28 people.
