Policemen killed in Tripura
Three policemen have been killed in an attack carried out by separatist rebels in the eastern Indian state of Tripura.

Police say the three policemen died instantly after their car was ambushed by the ATTF rebels during a counter-insurgency operation.

The rebels escaped with three assault rifles.

Intelligence officials described the incident as a rebel attempt to strike back after suffering heavy losses in recent months.
