Journalist shot dead in Pakistan
Police in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province say a journalist has been killed, allegedly by a local councillor.

Sajid Tanoli, 35, was shot dead in the northern town of Manshera, some 140 miles from provincial capital Peshawar.

Police have registered a case against the town's head councillor, Javed Khan, who they allege killed Mr Tanoli.

Mr Khan is said to have been enraged at the journalist for publishing news hostile to him.

Police have arrested his brother and son are making efforts to arrest Javed Khan himself.

The vehicle and pistol used in the attack has also been recovered.

Police suspect that the killing was result of a story published in a local daily about an illegal liquor business.

Further investigations are on.
