'Many Afghans killed' in 'quake
Some 600 Afghans may have been killed in last week's earthquake in Iran, the Afghan Government says.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation in Kabul told the BBC that some 220 bodies have been taken to the Iranian-Afghan border.

Relatives are already trying to bring their dead home so they can bury them.

The United Nations refugee agency is assisting the Iranian and Afghan governments in the return of the victims to their homeland.

During nearly 25 years of war, millions of people fled Afghanistan.

Most refugees settled in the neighbouring countries, especially Iran and Pakistan.

Some 3,000 Afghans are believed to have been living in the city of Bam at the time of the earthquake.
