One man was killed and five injured after a group of Sikhs attacked Muslim-owned properties, police in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad say.
The attack followed reports that a Sikh holy flag had been torched in Hyderabad's Kishan Bagh district.
The dead man was a 25-year-old auto rickshaw driver, Muhammed Afzal.
Locals say the police stood by during the attacks, but police official A Khan said 15 arrests were made and calm had been restored.
