Indian women seek protection
A leading women's organisation in India has called for police to take urgent steps to protect women in Delhi, following a series of rapes and sexual assaults.

A spokeswoman for the National Women's Commission, Poornima Advani, said police must, as she put it, carry out proper investigations.

She said the police had to be more sensitive towards victims, and make sure rapists were punished.

The issue has received increased attention over the past two weeks, after a college student and a Swiss diplomat were attacked.
