Separatists rally in south India
An estimated one million people have attended a rally in southern Indian to call for the Telangana region to become a separate state.

It is presently part of Andhra Pradesh.

The rally, near Warangal, was organised to mark the second anniversary of the formation of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti party, which is campaigning for separation.

The BBC correspondent at the rally says it was one of the biggest demonstrations of strength in the political history of Andhra Pradesh.

The demand for a separate state dates back 50 years but has been rejected by central government.
