US forces kill one in Afghanistan
United States forces in Afghanistan say they killed a man on the ground after an American helicopter was shot at in the south of the country.

A US spokesman, Colonel Roger King, said at least one more person on the ground was injured when they returned fire after an American soldier was wounded in the foot.

The incident took place during a US military operation northwest of Kandahar.
